This is a chance to bring your foundational developer experience and fold in some of the latest technologies and patterns, to stay on the cutting edge of where data-driven product offerings are headed, serving data to interfaces and APIs in scalable, reliable and innovative ways.As a Senior NodeJS Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the services in our backend systems. You will work in a cross-functional team (React, PHP, Node, Python developers) to deliver high-quality software solutions.Responsibilities
Develop and maintain backend services primarily using NestJS (a progressive NodeJS framework)
Participate in the entire software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance
Write clean, efficient, and reusable code following best practices, coding standards and agreed team conventions
Optimise application performance and ensure scalability of backend systems
Conduct thorough testing and debugging to ensure optimal functionality
Work closely with product managers and designers to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions
Keep up to date with industry trends and technologies in NodeJS development
Requirements:
Proven experience as a NodeJS Developer
Strong proficiency in NodeJS and Typescript
Good understanding of database systems (both document database, such as MongoDB and SQL databases, such as, MySQL or PostgreSQL)
Good understanding of Testing principles
Knowledge of Git version control system, and API testing tools, such as Postman
Experience of React, NextJS also beneficial
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and development workflows
Ability to write clean, efficient, and maintainable code
Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
Strong communication and collaboration abilities
Passion for learning and staying up to date with industry trends and technologies
Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms is a plus
Knowledge or some experience in PHP may be beneficial
