As a Procurement Associate – Sustainability and Compliance at ICON, you will play a crucial role in engaging suppliers on sustainability initiatives and supporting our Procurement team on sustainability and compliance topics.This is an Office Hybrid role in Sofia, Bulgaria (office-based - 60%/remote - 40%).What will you be doing?
  • Monitoring supplier performance and adherence to compliance standards, sustainability standards and contractual obligations.
  • Identifying and engaging with suppliers on sustainability and compliance topics.
  • Maintaining accurate procurement records, supplier documentation including certifications, risk assessments and other related metrics/results.
  • Assisting with onboarding and due diligence including sustainability questionnaires and compliance reviews.
  • Tracking and reporting on procurement KPI’s relating to sustainability, environmental impact, ethical sourcing and risk mitigation.
  • Stay current with relevant sustainability regulations and legislation (i.e. human rights laws, environmental policies) and communicating implications to procurement policies.
  • Assist with development and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives and strategies.
  • Working with Procurement Management to act as key internal lead on issues relating to sustainability or compliance.
  • Developing strong relationships with key ICON & Supplier stakeholders and promoting the sustainable procurement program both internally and externally.
  • Collaborating with ICON’s corporate ESG and Environmental teams to align procurement initiatives, programs and standards with wider corporate initiatives and objectives.
  • Meet individual performance goals/objectives as agreed with Procurement Management.
  • Recognize, exemplify and adhere to ICON's values of Agility, Collaboration, Integrity and Inclusion.
  • Ensure adherence to ICON procurement SOP’s, processes, initiatives and policies.
Your Profile:
  • At least 2-3 years in similar procurement, sustainability or other compliance/business support function.
  • Proven experience in sustainability or related field, preferably in a corporate or organizational setting.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders on a global basis – both internal and external.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to collect, analyze, and interpret sustainability and compliance data.
  • Strong organizational and administration skills and experience.
  • Commitment to responsible procurement and sustainability principles, with a passion for driving positive change.
